Privacy Policy
Today's Magnet is built for private family coordination. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how families can control their information.
What Today's Magnet is
Today's Magnet helps invited household members coordinate family life: calendars, updates, polls, wish lists, comments, RSVPs, invites, Family Circles, notification preferences, and shared calendar links.
A Household is the main family space. Family Circles decide who can see specific family content. Logged-out public access is limited to the landing page, invite acceptance, and calendar links that a household intentionally shares.
Information we collect
We collect information needed to run the app, including:
- Email address, display name, timezone, and optional birthday.
- Household, Family Circle, membership, invite, and role details.
- Events, announcements, polls, comments, wish lists, RSVPs, pasted schedule text, schedule uploads, import drafts, and similar family content.
- Managed family member details, such as a child or relative name, person type, notes, and Family Circle assignments.
- Notification preferences, notification records, delivery status, and email delivery metadata.
- Operational data such as audit events, server logs, request IDs, health checks, and basic security records.
- Privacy-focused usage analytics, such as page views and named product actions (for example, “event created”). We remove household and event identifiers, invite and public calendar tokens, query strings, and hashes from analytics addresses, and these events never include names, emails, or the text of your family content.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Create accounts and keep people signed in.
- Show the right household content to the right Family Circles.
- Send invites and household notifications.
- Support shared calendar links created by household admins.
- Read uploaded schedule PDFs, screenshots, images, or pasted schedule text when you ask the app to create draft calendar events for review.
- Maintain audit logs and safety records for household management.
- Understand which features are used, through privacy-focused product analytics, so we can improve the app.
- Debug, secure, monitor, and improve the app.
We do not sell family data. We do not use advertising trackers in the launch app, and our usage analytics are not linked to advertising profiles or used to track you across other apps or websites.
Service providers
Today's Magnet uses trusted service providers to operate the app:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend APIs.
- Vercel for hosting, deployment, server logs, and privacy-focused web analytics.
- Resend for email delivery.
- OpenAI for schedule-reading assistance when a user uploads a PDF, screenshot, image, or pasted schedule text for calendar import.
These providers process information only so the app can function, deliver messages, stay secure, and be maintained.
For Schedule Import, Today's Magnet sends the uploaded file or pasted schedule text to OpenAI only to help read the schedule and return draft event details. Today's Magnet does not ask OpenAI to train models on this information.
Sharing and visibility
Household content is private to invited members who have permission to see it. Family Circles limit visibility inside a Household.
Public calendar links show only calendar information that has been intentionally shared. They do not expose comments, reactions, polls, wish lists, member lists, private Family Circle membership, or family profile details.
Account deletion and data retention
Signed-in users can request account deletion from Profile settings. Account deletion removes the login, turns off notification preferences, removes active household access, and anonymizes profile details.
Some family history, shared content, and audit records may remain so households can preserve context, safety records, and accountability. If a user owns a Household, ownership must be transferred before the account can be deleted.
Children and family members without accounts
Household admins may add managed family members, such as children or relatives who do not sign in. These records are controlled by the household admins and are used for family coordination features like calendars, wish lists, and Family Circles.
